A new training program by the Community Power Agency
Are you looking to start or enhance your career in community engagement within the growing clean energy sector?
Exciting new entry-level jobs and further career opportunities are emerging in NSW, thanks to Australia’s renewable energy transition.
CPA is offering a fully supported training program for women in regional NSW. The program is aiming to build the skills, qualifications and connections they need to start and/or advance their career as community engagement professionals in the renewable energy sector.
Who is the program for?
We are recruiting 20 women across two cohorts: career starters and career advancers.
Eligibility – career starters program
-
You are a woman or gender-diverse person living in a NSW Renewable Energy Zone or adjacent rural area, who is ready to start a new career path in community engagement within the clean energy sector.
-
You don’t need prior experience in renewable energy or community engagement, just a willingness to learn and complete accredited training and a passion for your local community.
Eligibility – career advancers program
-
You are a woman or gender-diverse person living anywhere in NSW.
-
You are working in community engagement, either in renewable energy or an adjacent sector.
-
You are ready to progress your career by undertaking accredited training, widening your networks and building your leadership skills by mentoring other women who are starting out in their careers
What is community engagement?
Community engagement professionals play a vital role in renewable energy projects. They’re the people who connect energy companies with the communities their projects affect. It’s a growing field, and demand for skilled professionals in this area is set to rise across REZ regions in NSW.

- Practical workshops: applying your learning to real-world scenarios with leading engagement practitioners.
- Work experience for career starters: such as a short-term placement with a partner organisation to build your CV (subject to placement availability).
